Virtual Gala Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What is a Virtual Gala?
A:  A Virtual Gala is a fundraising event where guests, sponsors and donors participate through the internet instead of a large ballroom-type gathering.

Q: What is the date and time of the Virtual Gala?
A: Thursday, February 18, 2021, opening act starts at 6:30 pm and the main event at 7:00 pm. It will last approximately 1 hour, and we kindly request that you block your calendar so that you do not miss any of the fun, the giveaways, or the special guests.

Q: Do I need to purchase tickets?
A: Yes, you need to register to attend so we can send you the link to view the event as it happens.

Q: What is the cost to attend?
A: The cost to attend is totally up to you.  We will be offering suggested donations ranging from a $1 to $199, but you can also enter a custom donation amount.  Sponsorships are also available at preassigned amounts. More information can be found at oldsmarcares.org/gala

Q: What type of device is needed to virtually attend the Gala?
A: You will be able to access the Virtual Gala from any device that is connected to the internet. This includes laptop/desktop computer, mobile device, tablet or smart TV. If you have a watch party and use a smart TV encourage each guest to register for the event on their mobile device at event.give/oldsmarcares

Q:  How will I participate in the Virtual Gala?
A:  When you register you will receive confirmation via email and then closer to the event a link and instructions for attending the event via email. When you click the link you’ll access a website that will allow you to view the event host, video clips, entertainment, live auction and silent auction items.

Q:  How will I bid on auction items?
A:  Once you visit the link provided there will be instructions on how to bid on items during the live and silent auction.

Q: What form of payment will be available for auction items?
A: You will be able to use a credit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express or Discover).

Q: How will I receive my auction items?
A: You will receive an electronic notification if you win an item, and the credit card you entered when you started bidding will be charged automatically. Each item’s description includes details of how we will coordinate shipment, delivery, transfer of the item to the winning bidder.

Q: How do I make a donation to Oldsmar Cares?
A: During the Virtual Gala there will be a link on the event page and several opportunities to make donations during the program.  If you’d like to make a donation before or after the Gala visit oldsmarcares.org, select MAKE A DONATION and follow the instructions.

Q:  I’m not able to sponsor/attend this year.  Is there ways I can help?
A:  There are several ways to get involved:
Register for the Virtual Gala. Registration is based on the level of donation you are most comfortable. Visit oldsmarcares.org/gala for more info.
Donate an auction item. This year’s auction is going to be very special. Our goal is to offer the unique experiences to delight our guests. Auction items we’re looking for include:

Wine Wall – donate a bottle of wine with a Wine Spectator Rating of 90+
88 Bottles of Beer on the Wall – donate a 4 pack of handcrafted beer from around the country
Dine Around the World – donate a restaurant gift certificate of $50 or more
Spa, Massage or Personal Care Gift Baskets – put together an entire basket or individual item(s)
