My name is Rebecca and I am graduating from East Lake High School. I will be attending The University of Tampa in the fall, to study physical therapy. Volunteering at Oldsmar Cares this year has taught me many lessons and provided me with a new outlook on life. I never realized the struggles that other people faced and how many of these people were so close to home. It has been an honor to help these people and it feels good to know that we are making a difference.
My favorite part of volunteering here was meeting all of the other high school volunteers and Oldsmar Cares members and feeling as if we were all one big family that was working together for a great cause. My advice to future high school volunteers is to be open minded, accepting of others, and most importantly, be yourself because it will make volunteering fun and something to look forward to!
Overall, my experience at Oldsmar Cares has been fantastic and I look forward to coming back as I move on from high school to college.
My name is Sean and I'm graduating from East Lake High School. I will be attending Johnson & Wales University North Miami in the fall. The best thing about Volunteering at Oldsmar Cares was interacting with patrons and other volunteers. I will miss the friends I have made. The most surprising thing that happened was walking in to a fully stocked pantry. I learned that I enjoy helping others. My Advice to others is give volunteering a try. Oldsmar Cares is a wonderful place to volunteer.
